Alfresco 4.0a Drag and Drop feature

I'm new of Alfresco and I'm evaluating the new 4.0a version.

After a fresh install of Alfresco 4.0a (32 bit version on a test machine with Windows 2003 server) I cannot use the new drag&drop feature to upload files from desktops.

Is it possible that I made some mistakes during installation ? Or what else ?

Which browser are you using?

Before upload the request I tested with Firefox 7.0.1 (Windows and Mac version), Chrome 14 (Windows and Mac version), Safari 5.1.
That is all browser HTML5 capable ….

Firefox 7 won't work as Mozilla have broken their file upload API (box.net, etc. are all broken too).

Chrome 14 and Safari 5.1 should all be ok - in fact I'm running both of those here and can confirm they're working.

Firstly, check you can upload using the HTML or Flash uploader.

Next, switch Web Inspector and see if there are any client-side JavaScript errors being thrown. You can also check the alfresco.log file for error on the server (or look at the Tomcat console window, as they'll appear there too).

Try creating an new subfolder and see if you can drag-and-drop into that?

Otherwise you'll have to go into more detail about how you created the site, and exactly what action you're taking and how it fails.
