Alfresco 3c Tomcat will not start - Win XP

I'm trying to install Alfresco 3c on Win XP. I've tried a couple of the installers, but get the same result. I'm working now with the complete package inlcuding Java.

The install itself seems to go ok, but when I try to start the server from either the start menu entry or a command line, all I seem to get is the set of home vars:

Starting Tomcat…
Using CATALINA_BASE:   c:\Alfresco\tomcat
Using CATALINA_HOME:   c:\Alfresco\tomcat
Using CATALINA_TMPDIR: c:\Alfresco\tomcat\temp
Using JRE_HOME:        C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_05

I don't see anything obvious wrong and I can't seem to figure out how to get more output. I've enabled echo in a few of the startup files, but I still don't see anything obviously wrong.

Any advice?

I'm running on Win XP

Something is definitely going on - after attempting to start alfresco once, my network stack gets hosed up and I actually need to re-boot. I'm installed alfresco on other winxp machines, but not this particular version.

After much pondering, study, and screwing around with my win-bloze box I have figured out my problem:

1. Verzion is a horrible ISP that is a serious PITA. Alfresco was not the cause of my network issues.

2. In the alfresco.bat file there is a "-server" argument. On my Win XP machine iwth JSP 1.6.05 this argument causes tomcat to bomb out. As soon as I delete this argument everything is ok.

Alfresco B running on another Win XP, JDK 1.6.05 machine that I have does not have this problem. I will havew to look at its startup script to see if it has this argument.
