hi everyone,

like to check. if i have ubuntu 10.04 LTS 64 bits at a virtual machine and like to make sure it works with inbound/outbound emails, should I install any mail server (in this case postfix)?

For imap i know I can't install any postfix courier-imap else it will not work. How about inbound and outbound? If I install postfix, will this be an issue?

Any help? Thanks.

Postfix is another email server.    Are you worried about conflicting port numbers between alfresco's SMTP server and Postfix's SMTP server.

What's the problem?

does that mean i shouldn't install postfix at the first place when setting up ubuntu 10.04 LTS?

alfresco will have built-in email server for inbound/outbound?

yeah i am worried about the clash ports 25.

What is postfix for?  Alfresco doesn't need it.  If you do need two SMTP servers then just run one of them on port 25 and the other on another port.
