Alfresco 1.4.1 Enterprise upgrade

Hi,

I recently upgraded our Alfresco QA system from 1.3.2 Enterprise to 1.4.1 Enterprise as I did before on our development environment. The database conversion did work but it took ages (1 hour for a rather small database).

As we are planning to upgrade production next week I was wondering if this is normal. Should I be worried or is this database upgrade from 1.3.2 to 1.41 such an intensive process? We thought the server was hanging and I almost killed the upgrade process.

I don't recal the development upgrade took that long but I did this one in 2 steps (1.3.2 to 1.4.0 to 1.4.1).

Hi,

It is normal, if not entirely desirable.  Some of the patches take a while as they have to operate on every node individually and can't be done at a database level.
