Adding new metadata fields

I forgot to mention, I do not need a metadata associated with a file type. I just need a global metadata such as date of creation. I think it's easier that way.

"date of creation" is already available.  in the cm:created property.   As are all the other properties you mention.

You need to understand some of the concepts in the link that Steve gave you above.   Its not programming.

is this aplicable to community edition also? or only to the enterprise edition?

Is it possible to directly change the default model or only to extend the default model?
