Hi team,
i read an artcle http://newton.typepad.com/content/2007/02/opensearch_in_a.html and came to know that it is possible to search the ALfresco repository directly from the browser .

I want to add the Alfresco to the mozilla3.0 and IE7.0 as server side opensearch.
Can anyone know how to add the alfresco to IE/Mozilla (i.e right upper most corner) to search alfresco repository directly from
browser.

I read the wiki but not clear, please provide any syntax for this.
Or Is there any tutorials or blogs which explains this configuration ?

Thanks in advance.

Hi team please respond.
I have gone through wiki and some other tutorials but they are just telling it is possible.
But none of them was not explained the configuration procedure .
Is it really possible to add the alfresco repository for search to the browser?

waiting for your help…

Hi,
goto your alfresco Explorer client, e.g http://localhost:8080/alfresco
when your're logged in your browser should display "Alfresco keyword search" in your search engine dropdown box.
cheers,

Hi Jan,
Thanks for your reply.
when i'm trying to type something in the search box (AT THAT TIME USER IS NOT LOGGEDIN) it is asking me for login to the alfresco. is it mandatory to login for searching through browser??

But still i'm not able to configure the google search from alfresco opensearch already we had some discussion regarding the same.
Is ther any bug for google.
Please have a look into the following post.

Hi,
yub, of course you need to login. You need an authenticated context to follow permissions.
cheers, jan

hi Jan,
thanks for your support.
what about Google search integration?
Any idea about configuring any search engines inside alfresco?
The wiki is not clear so that why i'm getting a bit confusion.
WHat factors i need to keep in mind while adding a new search engine. how to find the url of a particular search engine like google, amazon etc ?
