I've been troubleshooting this issue myself now for 3 days to no avail …


I get the following error more often than not …

It's apparent that this thread is a little old, but in case it helps someone in the future.  I just recently had the same problem.

Make sure that the single quotes are the correct style (for lack of a better word).  If you've copy-and-pasted from a tutorial chances are that the single quotes are messed up. 

For example, the single quote used below will give you the timestamp parsing error:

ldap.synchronization.timestampFormat=yyyyMMddHHmmss’.0Z’‍

whereas the code below will not (can't guarantee it will copy-and-paste correctly, though):

ldap.synchronization.timestampFormat=yyyyMMddHHmmss'.0Z'‍
