Hello,

i read all wiki/forum/messages/… but seems that i cannot access Alfresco completely from windows using CIFS/WebDav.

CIFS: I have successfully configured Alfresco to have it access from Windows: i can use the address \\IP\alfresco\ on "Windows Explorer", i'm logged-in, i'm able to access the Sites directory but i can not see anything inside it… empty!!

WEBDAV: old story, seems that i need to use the alfresco/aos for windows (and not alfresco/webdav, that is working form Mac) but the service is not present an i do not know how to install it

Can someone help me ?

thanks

Hello,

CIFS: you can only see something inside the Sites folder when a site actually exists (needs to be created first) and you have access permissions to that site (either you are a member or the site is public)

WebDAV: /alfresco/webdav IS the proper way to access WebDAV. /alfresco/aos is a SharePoint protocol connector (which is kind of like WebDAV but NOT interchangeable with standard, non-Microsoft-messed-up WebDAV). /alfresco/aos is not available for Alfresco Community 5.0.d - it is an Enterprise-only module for Alfresco 5.0, and will be included as a proprietary module (not covered by Open Source license) in Alfresco Community 5.1

Hello,

thanks for your answer (especially on clarify the AOS question), about CIFS: Sites were created and my user is allowed (it is an administrator of the site) to access them. The sites are created as Private but having me the rights to access them i should see their content, isn't it ? I wondering if i do not see anything only because no document are still there …… i created only the site.

thanks a lot

Hello,

in that case you should see the site even without a document in it. There are some techniques to hide specific elements for specific interfaces, so i.e. I can hide a specific folder from being displayed in CIFS. But to my knowledge those techniques should not be applied to sites by default. To be honest, I haven't used CIFS myself in quite a while so I have not comparison experience on Alfresco 5.0.d (last time used was on a 4.1.x / early 4.2 release).

Can you check the site via the Node Browser admin console tool and provide a screenshot from the properties / aspects section? Some of the techniques I mentioned should show in that view if they have been applied…

Axel

I'd need to see the details of an individual site - not the Sites container.

Ok - according to that output, one technique to hide a node from CIFS (sys:hidden aspect) has not been applied. The reason must be elsewhere (I currently don't have a likely suspect on my mind).
