In short : folders and documents became invisible in all interfaces … and I want to figure out which steps to take to solve it.

Some site had a bunch of documents and folders, that were not under the standard documentlibrary folder : that one was deleted before … .
So an admin user connected to the site through IMAP (outlook). I don't know what happened. Did he delete the documents in Outlook, did he move them, don't know. I was told Outlook stood synchronizing a looooong time.
So the result is : files appear to be gone in the alfresco/share browser. Nothing ever appeared in trash folder. And! I can find the files on the filesystem under the contentstore folder and in share interface I can search for those document and retrieve them with either a preview or a download button. But the metadata seems to be rigged and 'documentlibrary-v2/node.get.js' throws a bunch of nullpointerexceptions.
Interessting enough … I had a test server running on a 2 months old dump from this server. Turns out also overthere this site does not show any documents or folders. The only difference is : when searching for the files in the site, the tests server returns LESS documents than this up and running server. Soooo … someone must have filled it, I guess, with the Outlook interface and somehow Outlook still showed those folders until a few day's ago. Confused!!
Can anyone think of a scenario that would [corrupt] the metadata when using Outlook?
Are we obliged to put documents into "document library"-folder?
How do I, try to , get Alfresco back in shape? First lucence indexes check and then solr indexes check? Any advice on the order is appreciated.
