4.0.d Web Projects and Web Forms not showing up

I’m trying to get 4.0.d to have the Web Projects and Web Forms that I had when working with 3.4.d. I have deployed the wcmqs and awe modules. I was getting an error with using “solr” but a switch in the alfresco-global.properties to:

index.subsystem.name=lucene
Seems to sort the exception I used to get on start up when using solr

23-Feb-2012 10:31:10 org.apache.solr.common.SolrException log
SEVERE: org.alfresco.repo.search.impl.lucene.LuceneQueryParserException: 01230000 Invalid type: {http://www.alfresco.org/model/website/1.0}website
I would like to sort that issue out but that is really just a nice to have, my primary concern is getting 4.0.d to have Web Projects and Web Forms.

Ay idea what I’m missing? This is all out of the box stuff so I have not tried to remove or add anything that’s not in the alfresco-community-4.0.d-installer-linux-x64.bin

You need to bootstrap AVM, as you have always had to do.

Have you read the announcement at the top of the AVM forums?

If you still want it to work, 4.0.d's wcm bootstrap is unchanged from previous 3.4 or 4.0 versions so take the bootstrap from source or an old release.

Excuse my ignorance in this but does the deprecation of AVM mean Web Projects and Web Forms will also be at risk from deprecation?

Yes.   "Web Projects" are heavily dependent upon AVM.

The advice is stronger than "at risk of deprecation".  AVM Web Projects are now at "End of Life."

This is quite a massive blow for us as we have a lot of work that was using Web Forms in the Web Projects.

Can you inform me what replaces Web Forms in the Web Projects from now on? I need to understand if Alfresco can now fulfil the work we have done in Web Projects and Web Forms in another way.

Web Projects and Web Forms are still available in 4.0.   And support is still active for the lifetime of 4.0.

Thanks for your reply. The issue we face is that we have to stay on n or n-1 of a major release version of Alfresco (hosting requirement). This will be ok now but I have to look to the future. As part of the upgrade to 4.0 we may have the opportunity to replace the Web Project and Web Forms with an equivalent but need to know if there is a replacement for this in Alfresco 4 or if in a later versions of Alfresco you’re doing away with their functionality.
