3.3g: some thumbnails work, others don't, large previews ok?

Hey everyone, I'm running the Community 3.3g edition on a RHEL server. This is an upgrade from 3.2.

Some of the thumbnails in the document library (images) work, but others just show the double gears (pdfs, documents, text files).

On the other hand, all of the large previews are working, for documents, pdfs, images, etc:

I think this means that the connection to Open Office and pdf2swf is okay.

I don't see any errors in startup or the error log, just an indication that things may be working:

I don't see any errors in the error log when I list items in the document library, either.

Here i am having the same problem with 3.2E.

how can i get thumbnails in alfresco share document Library.

I've got exactly the same issue! - See here - I could not yet try out the suggested solution though.

Alfresco 3.3g CE on Ubuntu 10.04 Server.

I think that's the solution - to check that Xvfb is running correctly, and that Alfresco is starting up with the headless option. Making that change resulted in thumbnail previews showing up for all pdf and doc files.

Notes for posterity:
- Before adding the headless java startup option to Alfresco, some pdf and doc thumbnail previews were there and some weren't. This might be due to cached previews.
- All full-size previews were working.
- I was unable to get any errors in the error logs.

Same here! The headless option solved the problem.
