3.2 - Share Failed to Login

Loaded 3.2 on win box, changed "8080" to "8090" in startup batch files (conflict), started Alfresco server…Explorer launched / logged in as admin. Changed admin password.

The Company Home > Sites page has an alert: "This space is managed by Alfresco Share. Please use the Alfresco Share application to work with content within this space and any sub-spaces."

I attempt to start Share but regardless of user/pw combos get this error:

Failed to Login
The remote server may be unavailable or your authentication has not been recognized.

Ideas how to clear or reset the authentication (without a full uninstall / reinstall)?

Now to figure out how to create a Site (haven't figured out the valid "URL" part yet).

"test", "site1", "mySite", etc.

THANKS for your quick reply.

I think my problem is one of ignorance…as a new non-technical user I'm trying to find answers to simple questions that an experienced Alfresco user "knows" or should I say "learned". I have spent several DAYS trying to figure out / underswtand Alfresco but also public info for basics doesn't seem to exist. As an example, when in Share> Create Site the display under URL Name states "This is…such as http : // domain.com /… so I'm thinking "OK, I need a fully resolved URL" never expecting something as simple as a single word entry! Ditto for the "Getting Started with…" pdf. Frustrating - and from using the Forum Search it looks like I'm not alone. I hope Alfresco developes some reeeeally basic info for people / situations like mine.

I'm in technical communications (technical writer on steroids), not an IT pro / programmer. I've been tasked to research collaboration / document control packages and from what I've found Alfresco fits our needs the closes. I need to create a POC on a local workstation to show managers, who may know next to nothing about technology, what the fast-track / simple capabilities are.

Thanks for the feedback. I've just taken a look at the Getting Started Guide - I guess it would help if the fields were filled-in with example values on the screenshot.

I'll send the suggestion to the docs team.
