Alfresco gives this error while logging in:

Alongside we also get below log messages:

Log " unable to retrive license information from alfresco: 404

Are these 2 issues related? if so what is the resolution here? we are on the community edition. We have checked to see that both tomcat and progresql services are running. Even tried to reboot server (win2010)

These issues are related as in they have the same cause: Your Share web application is not configured properly and does not use the correct URL to call the backend / Repository. You need to check your share-config-custom.xml file for the configuration relating to "Remote".

Alternatively, if the configuration is correct, then you may simply have an issue where the backend / Repository does not start up correctly, and you should have errors in the alfresco.log.
