Is it possible to control access for specific versions of a document?

We have a use case for managing permissions at a document version level. We would like to keep the latest version open to everyone and restrict the previous versions to a specific group of users. Is this currently possible using Share or ADF or Web Quick Start?

Access restrictions are the responsibility of the repository / backend, not the UI. Unfortunately, by default Alfresco does not apply any access restrictions on versions, other than the user must be able to access the actual document to which the version refers. You'd need to apply significant customisations in the backend to restrict access.

Of course you could always "hack" something on the UI, though any user with sufficient knowledge of Alfresco could circumvent that...

Hello.

I know about the following blog post http://www.tsgrp.com/2017/08/14/alfresco-versioning-how-to-make-it-better-with-the-tsg-chain-version...

It seems it is exactly what you need. Something similiar to what Documentum offers.
