How to maintain an alfresco system?

Hello there, 

what are the basic maintenanace activities of alfresco long running system? What events/problems do you deal with most often? (temp files, regular cleaning jobs, etc.)

This is very generalized query and there would be a lot of params depending on use case and your setup, however, basic things to look for:

1- Timely OS patches

2- Memory monitoring

3- Usage monitoring

4- Keep JVM Tuned as repo grows

5- Solr index status checks

6- DB Performance checks

ETC. the list could longer.....

Yes, make sure temp folder is cleaned up. Alfresco has OOTB job to clean this up. But you can monitor that as well. Trash can cleaner job can be configured to remove deleted nodes piling up in trash can.  

If you have appropriate infra setup based on repo plans, you can reduce the maintenance efforts to some extent.
