How to generate renditions for images and videos

Hello community 

i was looking into forums and docs on how to setup ACS to generate renditions for images (e.g. tiff, jpeg,png etc.) and video files (e.g. mov, mp4, flv etc.) 

I couldn't get clear steps to implement this, can anyone suggest steps to implement renditions. I will be doing it for the first time so i am really confused 

Any help/guidance will be helpful

The local & embedded transformers are not that scalable ,I suggest you to upgrade to alfresco 6 and use Alfresco Transform Service
