Hi all,

I have never used SVN, we currently use CVS I have downloaded a number of SVN clients tortoise, Smart SVN to name a couple and if I use the url provided on the download site svn://www.alfresco.org/alfresco/HEAD  - I get a connection not found response. Could anyone please lead me through how to get this to work.

Thanks in advance Dave

I get the following when using the command prompt

C:\>svn co svn://www.alfresco.org/alfresco/HEAD
svn: Can't connect to host 'www.alfresco.org': A connection attempt failed becau
se the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or estab
lished connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.

Any help would be most appreciated

Problem was port 3690 was blocked on our firewall. For those who no nothing about svn(me) perhaps this would be a good hint to have on the svn download page ? alternatively using the http protocol would be a better approach or is alfresco trying to limit the who can access the code? Most people would have port 3690 blocked I believe.

Thanks to all who tried to help
