Location of customized webscripts in 3.3 Community edition

I've got an alfresco book with what I think is old info.
It states that you can store customized web scripts in either the repository or the file system.

Storing them in the filesystem works … but if you're careless, and copy a sample script unmodified, you risk Alfresco not starting up on reboot.

I want to store my custom webscripts in the filesystem … at least until I've mastered things.
My book says to store custom web scripts in '<<alfresco_server>> > tomcat | shared | extension | templates | webscripts' creating the required folders and then restart Alfresco.

Alfresco doesn't find the scripts.  Is the location incorrect?
Where in the file system should I place custom webscripts?
Thanks

You're nearly correct; it's described here: http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Web_Scripts#Deciding_Where_to_Place_Web_Script_Implementation

So it would be: Tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/extension/templates/webscripts
and for Share: Tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco/web-extension

Thanks,
Mike
