Export compatability

Is an export from the preview release going to be importable in to the production release?

I got the impression that the basic schema was pretty much set but that there may be some minor tweaks.

Thanks

Hello,

Very probably not sorry. The model is stablising now but it is highly unlikely that an export from the preview version will import into V1.0. However, the model should be stable for Alpha and Beta releases before V1.0.

Cheers,

Kevin

However saying that - there is no reason why you couldn't write an XSLT transform between a preview release export XML file to make it compatible with the final model format! Smiley Happy

Hey Kevin,

Are there xsd files for the export formats?  products like oxygen xml allows you to map one schema to another and generates the xsl for you.

what exactly is changing and why?
Will you be adding additional information or just changing structure in terms of organization?

I have a small investmet in my current installation but not one that is sooo large I couldnt reproduce it in a day.  the fact that this repository is still in a preview mode has kept us from actually using in a full force way.

I wonder how many folks have the same concern I do, but with more investment in the previous schema? I got the impression from John that some organizations are USING alfresco as we speak (that was my impression… could be totaly bonkers.)  John had mentioned there would be tweaks before the production release which is what is prompting my inquery.
