Does Alfresco 4.0.x support Postgres 8.4.x

I have searched everywhere but cannot seem to get a clear answer.
Can I use the latest Alfresco 4.0.x Community with Postgres 8.4.x?

I have only seen installation references to Postgres 9….

It should work.  However it is not the version tested.
