Calling a webscript from another webscript

Is there any way to call a webscript of the same application from another JavaScript webscript? (Actually, I need to implement an adapter for existing webscript and I would not like to duplicate webscript code).

my understanding is that you can do this in /share using the remote object. If your webscripts are in /alfresco, you can't do it.
