Alfresco Surf - beginners help and documentation

Hi,

I am currently evaluating Alfresco Labs 3 and especially Alfresco Surf as solution for building a tool to create easy HTML content via drag'n'drop (and renaming it realtime in the repository when content changes via dnd). However documentation for getting it up and running is quite rare.

Does the existing documentation for wcm help, if I need to know basic things like authentication against the alfresco repository or are there some examples, especially for people who haven't worked with Alfresco before?

Any help is greatly appreciated, as the guided examples in the wiki as well as the freemarker/JS documentation is not yet completed. Thx!

Alexander,

Unfortunately, what you see on the Wiki is all that's currently available.  There is more documentation work going on all the time, but this being a beta preview, we are still working on it.  We are also planning some webinars over the next few months.

Just to be sure you haven't missed anything - here are the articles on Surf on the Wiki.

And as I myself am learning about the platform, I've been using Alfresco Share as a good set of examples for how to use Surf.

I believe it does help, though not as much as you'd hope.

Hi everyone,
I'm having problems logging into the Share installation. I repeated receive the Failed to Login message (in both IE7 and FF3).
I've tried the workaround that requires the changing of password while logged into the web client, but to no avail.

How is every else logging in? Any and all help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

We had similar trouble logging in. Our problem is we changed the default port from 8080 to something else. There are several config files that must be changed to accommodate this:
