Theoretically unlimited - only restricted by the amount of content storage you have in your infrastructre and how your database scales with number of nodes / complexity of data..

Does it mean that unlimited storage space is available for each user on community version?

Unless you configure a user quota limit, then each user can store as much as they want until the storage of your system is full.
