Is there a way to monitor files in a shared network drive in Community edition of Alfresco Share?

We are trying Alfresco Share out in the hopes that we can see when software developers make changes to their development files.  I've looked at most of the video tutorials but that hasn't answered my question.  Any guidance on this will be appreciated.

I'm afraid you can't.

I think can try to enable versioning for these documents ,when software developers make changes to some file ,a new version will be created.
