Hi all,
We use Alfresco as Virtual Machine (EXSi Ubuntu...). We have around 20-25 users actives. Amount of data around 800Gb. The most people use network mapping (SMB) to access to the files. We use Alfresco since 3 months and actually I had this message during peak time :
And the access to files for users become slow/cannot at all.
We actually use this type of HDD :
And the VM config :
I check all other parts as CPU, RAM and Network all are fine.
So do I need to replace the HDD? What kind on hardware? SSD Samsung PRO 2Tb (so expensive!!) ??
Need expert advice please.

Alfresco itself does not need a very specifc type of disk. The general goal would be that the disk(s) that handle the operating system, application / temp files, database files and the SOLR index have the lowest latency possible / you can provide. Using SSD for index is a typical recommendation for best performance, as is using either a very fast disk (SSD) or sufficient memory for the database (to avoid costly IO).
With regards to your specific hardware warning... I am no hardware / storage expert, so can't really say if you have a bad HDD right there...
