Appearance of special character "-"?

In alfresco while searching any file, appearance of  "-" symbol fail to identify the required file. Kindly help me.

Hi:

Do you refer a "-" in the filename ? May you clarify how are you searching and what does it mean "fail to identity" ?

In any case "-" is an special character, and Alfresco tokenizes (splits) the filename in parts and indexes both. But this normally generates more results.
