Any opinions on DocStar / Alfresco One / other document management software?

I work for a company with almost 300 employees in the insurance field. We're currently using an aging SharePoint system which my director is looking to replace, and has tasked me with finding potential replacements.

I'd prefer a self hosted solution, but am open to cloud suggestions. So far the front runners from what I've researched are DocStar and Alfresco One. Do any of you have experience with them, or know of alternative software I should be looking at?

Hello Chriss,

Moving to Alfresco is a great idea, it is used by a load of insurance industry customers.

Do your team has knowledge in Java technologies? Do you plan to deploy it on your own cloud or on a public cloud?

If you want to get started with Alfresco, maybe you could be interested by a demo, or a free trial, please use our contact form (Contact Us and Global Office Locations | Alfresco). And you feel like to you want to test the basics, please have a look at Alfresco Community Edition | Alfresco
