I wanted to know what the Sharepoint/CIFS interface to Alfresco is. Please send me your answer in detail at the earliest.

They are two separate technologies.

CIFS (Common Internet File System) is a protocol that allows access your alfresco repository as if it is a shared drive.

SharePoint Protocol enables MS Office applications to use an Alfresco repository as if they were talking to a MS share point server.
