Search not working in Alfresco Share

the search function is not working at all, returning no result even when i search with the exact file name.

i wanted to look around in the forum first, but the search function in this forum doesn't allow me to search for "search".

so guys would you please tell me how to fix this problem in my alfresco share? million thanks in advance!

Hi jimi,
please post which version of alfresco you are using and  on which operating  system.search problem is related to the lucene search engine.so there may be some problem with that .please post your log files while tried to search .

Search in Alfresco (3.4a) Share searches for documents inside the Sites you have created
and not the entire repository. So if you don't have any documents in the Share Document Library
then no wonder you get an empty search result. But if you do have created Sites and have
documents in them then its worth looking at the logs…

You can try on Head to see the repository search in Share

  I also meet some problems in share search. I put a utf-8 chinese word in search term, in browser address bar the url is correct, but after page loaded, the search term changes to unrecognized words.
for example, my initial search term is '中国'， search url is 'http://share.cofreeonline.com/share/page/search?t=%E4%B8%AD%E5%9B%BD',
but the actually post to the proxy, the term changes to '%C3%A4%C2%B8%C2%AD%C3%A5%C2%9B%C2%BD',below is the url
http://share.cofreeonline.com/share/proxy/alfresco/slingshot/search?site=&term=%C3%A4%C2%B8%C2%AD%C3..., I get it by firebug.
Can you help me on this issue? thanks!

Hi,

I have the opposite problem. Indeed, when I run a search on a given word, the result tells me that there are "no documents in the Repository". However, I have several documents that contain the search word in either the text or in metadata.

Upon reading the message returned is noted that the search engine executes the query in the Repository, not at all sites. Now all my documents are created in the sites (DocumentLibrary).

Is there a way to force the advanced search to search under Share documents also in the sites. If yes, could you please tell me where I can make the necessary changes

My setup is as follows:
OS: Win Server 2003
Alfresco Community Edition 3.4c
