We have been using Alfresco Cloud (free version) for a while without incident. Last week I set up a site and invited people to join it. Some did and some posted documents so they clearly could get to the site.
This morning one invitee said they could not get to the site, I tried myself and I got
"A server error has occurred"
page. When I clicked on the link from "My Sites"
I can navigate direct to the document library (because I know how to contruct the URL manually in the browser address bar) and I can navigate to other parts of the site directly, but I cannot get to the dashboard.
The underlying error message is
<!–javax.servlet.ServletException: Could not resolve view with name 'site/hr-documents/dashboard' in servlet with name 'Spring Surf Dispatcher Servlet' at org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet.render(DispatcherServlet.java:1029) at org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet.doDispatch(DispatcherServlet.java:817) at org.springframework.web.servlet.DispatcherServlet.doService(DispatcherServlet.java:719) at org.springframework.web.servlet.FrameworkServlet.processRequest(FrameworkServlet.java:644) at org.springframework.web.servlet.FrameworkServlet.doGet(FrameworkServlet.java:549) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:617) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:717) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:290) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationDispatcher.invoke(ApplicationDispatcher.java:646) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationDispatcher.processRequest(ApplicationDispatcher.java:436) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationDispatcher.doForward(ApplicationDispatcher.java:374) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationDispatcher.forward(ApplicationDispatcher.java:302) at org.tuckey.web.filters.urlrewrite.NormalRewrittenUrl.doRewrite(NormalRewrittenUrl.java:195) at org.tuckey.web.filters.urlrewrite.RuleChain.handleRewrite(RuleChain.java:159) at org.tuckey.web.filters.urlrewrite.RuleChain.doRules(RuleChain.java:141) at org.tuckey.web.filters.urlrewrite.UrlRewriter.processRequest(UrlRewriter.java:90) at org.tuckey.web.filters.urlrewrite.UrlRewriteFilter.doFilter(UrlRewriteFilter.java:417) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:235) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.alfresco.web.site.servlet.MTAuthenticationFilter.doFilter(MTAuthenticationFilter.java:74) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:235) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:206) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:219) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:191) at de.javakaffee.web.msm.SessionTrackerValve.invoke(SessionTrackerValve.java:126) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:127) at org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:102) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngineValve.invoke(StandardEngineValve.java:109) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:298) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11AprProcessor.process(Http11AprProcessor.java:865) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11AprProtocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.process(Http11AprProtocol.java:579) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.AprEndpoint$SocketWithOptionsProcessor.run(AprEndpoint.java:2017) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.runTask(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:886) at java.util.concurrent.ThreadPoolExecutor$Worker.run(ThreadPoolExecutor.java:908) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:662)–>

Other sites created at the same time are accessible, just this one is not. It is a concern, because if it had been one of the other sites I could lose a helluva lot of information.
I have also requested a paid Trial 3 times and requested an upgrade 3 times, not contact, no response.
Should I stick around???

Non of us here would expect to be able to call up and get advice on "how to use" a free product, but fixing when it breaks might be good PR if nothing else. There is clearly a bug here as what you can actually do in the free product is very limited and I certainly did not even try and reconfigure the site dashboard (which is standard functionality anyway).
I can say that I use the Community Version locally and for other internet projects and it really is very good and very stable and the Alfresco Engineers do monitor those forums and are very helpful.
To get your data visible again in the web, create another site, and then try and go to your old site dashboard (it will fail), then substitute the word documentlibrary for dashboard at the end of the URL in the address bar and try to go there and that should place you in the document library of your inaccessible site. From there you can now copy the contents to your new accessible site.
Its not a solution to the underlying problem (which I think is a missing file in the share site configuration directory - but I cannot be sure) but it will get you out of jail.
Good luck

Regarding this issue…our IT team is hard at work on a solution. I can assure everyone this is a critical, high priority issue that other customers have reported. As soon as I get more information I will post what I can here, if you are a paying customer please contact Alfresco Support, and they may be able to give you more information and/or assistance. Thank you!

However, I don't understand the secrecy surrounding the support issues and release details given the open source nature of Alfresco.
