Installer or WAR?

Hello …

I am having difficulty selecting the installation mode (installer or WAR).

We use CentOS 6 here and we will use other web applications beyond alfresco.

What is the best way to proceed in this case?
1 - Install Tomcat, PostgreSQL, etc. and use the Alfresco WAR?
or
2 - Install Tomcat, PostgreSQL, etc. (for the other web applications) and use the installer for Alfresco? Doing it this way will stay with two instances of Tomcat?

First option is more suitable if you have other webapplications to be used on server.

No, Infact you are increasing your utilization of resources by taking first approch.

If you have the knowledge and want to control exactly what goes where then install manually.   If you just want something up and running then used the installer.       Or there is a middle route of using the installer and then customising.

Ultimately it's the same stuff and you could end up with an identical result through either route.   However a manual install would be tailored to your particular requirements.
