In this promo for 3.4 there is a reference to external user groups.

it sounds like I can make it so these users don't see public sites.
any documents or anyone know how this is done and how you identify an external user that does not have access to public sites ?

No comment, on how this is done, it's just in your promos ?

There's no specific UI for this, it's just using normal Alfresco permissions to configure access to the Repository.

Thanks,

Hello MikeH,

It seems that any user (internal or external) is part of the EVERYONE group.
I found out that if I remove the rights of EVERYONE to, for example, the data dictionary, a lot of the SHARE access does not work. In effect, that means that my external users have a read access to the data dictionary and other spaces via the Alfresco Explorer. (I know, they should not even know it exist but some of these guys have Alfresco at work and others are curious!)

To exclude external users from these spaces, I would have to reconfigure all the users in different groups and assign those groups to the spaces and remove access to EVERYONE.

Within SHARE, it is not a problem in the present setup. (I had to remove the repository button from SHARE).

How can I exclude my external users from accessing the repository via the Alfresco Explorer?
Or is it possible to remove a user from the EVERYONE group and put him/her in another, more restricted group?
I tried various ways and read all the books but found nothing that could help me.

Any lead is welcomed, Thanks!
