I am trying to test mapping a drive in Windows Explorer (Mapping a network drive to Alfresco (Windows users) | Alfresco Documentation ) to my Alfresco trial online and am wondering what URL to use?  And is this even available on the trial version?

many thanks

Hi,

You can use webdav to mapping a drive.

The url will be something like this: http://localhost:8383/alfresco/webdav  (localhost:8383 is your alfresco and port).

Regards,

I don't believe that would work for me as I am not installing locally, rather using a virtual machine on the Alfresco trial site.

You were correct, webdav did work.  For some reason it only lets me open files and not add files, but I am able to see the files on the Alfresco site adding '/alfresco/webdav' to the site URL when mapping the drive, which in my case was https://[mytrial].alfresco.com/alfresco/webdav.

The following help doc explains a bit:

/docs/DOC-4783-client-webdav

- cheers

Hi Patrick:

If you open webdav via browser (IE, Chrome or Firefox), you will ONLY be able to browse and download. If you map a webdav network drive in your Windows environment (as another network drives in Windows), you can add files if you have permissions to do it. In Windows, you may have problems to set it up if your Alfresco is not configured for using https.

Regards.
