Categories not displaying in category manager

Hello,

I'm using Alfresco Share v6.1.0-RC3, Alfresco Community v6.1.2 and Search Services 1.3.0.1.

I am trying to use categories for items in a repository but I don't seem to be ale to do so in the category manager. I click on add, i create the category "test" but it's not showing in the list. what might be the problem?
