Can folders be dragged and dropped from computer to alfresco?

Hi, I am using Alfresco Community version 4.2.f and I am trying to drag and drop folders from my computer to alfresco share. I can drag and drop files, but not folders.

Does anyone have an idea of how should I start implementing that?

In the latest version (5.2) we can do that:

Alfresco Community Edition 5.2 

So I suggest to upgrade your installation with the latest version.

Another way to achieve this result could be based on configuring your Alfresco repo as a shared drive for any user desktop client using WebDAV, FTP or CMIS as the main protocol. In this way they can drag and drop contents directly using their own operating system.
