Alfresco custom roles enabled only for search functionality

Can we customize role in Alfresco - This role can search for the document but not allowed to open the document.

Can I just clarify your requirement? You want a custom user role that:

• a) allows user to search for documents
• b) see search results
• c) but not to be able to open any of the results
