Activiti 6 : Create new task instance to process instance which is not predefined in workflow

Hello Guys we are using activiti bpm 6.

How can we achieve creation of a new task in a running process? We have a use case where the process is created per a pr-defined model but a user can decide that there is an additional task that must be added for completion to the the running instance based on some business criteria. How can this be achieved?

Any help is really appreciated.

why not have the task made already (defined in the model), and delegate to that task only if the user selects using an exclusive gateway.
