The official documentation is at: http://docs.alfresco.com
The lifecycle attribute of the web script definition indicates to the developer which web scripts are good to use.
Web scripts are created, have a specified lifetime, and then may be retired before being deleted.
Some web scripts may never be intended for end users to call as they may be sample or very temporary early versions.
When a web script is reaching the end of its useful life it is marked as 'deprecated' in a similar manner to the way that deprecation works in the Java language. The deprecated method still works correctly but will not be available in future versions of Alfresco.
