Why would anyone use the CMIS 1.0 URL rather than the 1.1 URL?

Dear all,

In 2013 Jeff Potts wrote about the 2 CMIS URLs that are usable in Alfresco 4.2 and later:

> Which one you use depends on which version of CMIS you would like to leverage.
> If you want to use CMIS 1.0, the URL is:
> If you would rather use CMIS 1.1, the URL is:

My question: In a new application, is there any reason why one would prefer the CMIS 1.0 URL over the CMIS 1.1 URL?

I have read both specifications, and 1.1 appears to be backward-compatible, which means that using the CMIS 1.1 URL presents no functional disadvantage. Have I missed something?

Thanks!

No. There is no good reason to use CMIS 1.0 except for compatibility with the older version of the spec.

Hi mrogers,

What is the difference between below 2 URL:
http://localhost:8080/alfresco/cmisatom
http://localhost:8080/alfresco/api/-default-/public/cmis/versions/1.0/atom

Both are referring to CMIS 1.0. I am actually little confused on these URL's because in Jeff's blog http://ecmarchitect.com/archives/2013/09/15/3554, he mentioned only one difference. Is there any major difference on using above URLs?

Thanks in advance
