User search not working

Hi all,

I have a really bizarre problem in my Alfresco Community 3.4.d and I ran out of ideas.

As I said I have an Alfresco Community 3.4.d integrated with LDAP. One user, called cramosga, can log into alfresco and use it normally. However, as administrator I need to add this user into a new group to add permissions to a new folder. If I search the user inviting it to a group I can't find it. It seems as if it wasn't syncronized from LDAP to Alfresco. I try to search the user in Manage System Users but I cant' find it either.

The strangest point is when I search all users I can see the syncronized user. In addition, in the node browser if I search the user directly I can't find it but searching all users there it is.

So, the user is created and working Ok. However I can't add it into new groups because the search of this user is not working.

By the way, the log files don't show anything… 😞

Any ideas?

I've been investigating and I think the problem is related to indexation. Any ideas?

I similarly couldn't find a particular user through search, runyan_admin, but then found I could find it by prefixing "%" into the search query, e.g. %mrunyan_admin.

I've experienced this, and it was because I had done a backup and change the solr indexing to noindex in the alfresco global properties and then not changed it back.

You'll find it in /opt/alfresco/tomcat/shared/classes/alfresco-global.properties.  And it should look like the following:

### Solr indexing ###
index.subsystem.name=solr
dir.keystore=${dir.root}/keystore
solr.port.ssl=8443

Hello,

I have this problem, but i checked the file alfresco-global.properties and de solr indexing lines are the same as you look. The issue persist.
Do you have another file when i can check?
Thank you!

I too have this problem. My global alfresco file referenced here looks just the same as above (have not changed it). What has "changed" is we access alfresco share on port 8443. Is this the problem?
