Uploading documents via Email

I'm trying to find documentation on how to configure Alfresco to process emails that have a document attached to them. Ideally would be to create rules that puts the document in a site based on conditions.

Is this an option and is there documentation somewhere that explains how to set this up?

If you mean RFC822 message uploaded to the repository then there is an extract attachments utility provided by IMAP.    I'm not sure its exposed for all messages or just ones delivered via IMAP.
