Unable to Preview Website

Hi,

I am new to WCM.

I am using alfresco-community-wcm-3.3
I am trying to create a Web project and a web form.
I am referring to the following pdf for Creating the web project and web form:

However, when i do 'Preview Website', i get a [size=125]'Connection refused' [/size]error-message in the Browser.

And also when i start the virtual tomcat server(virtual_start.bat), i get a an error message in the tomcat window as:

[size=125]SEVERE: Connection failure to remote Alfresco JMX Server: …[/size]

Can anybody please help me with this ASAP..

Yogeh_prabhu / beheradebdeep,

You would need to make some changes in "alfresco-virtserver.properties".
follow this wiki page http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Configuring_the_Virtualization_Server

After refer the pdfs i am unable to solve the 'Preview Website' problem , i am still getting  'Connection refused' error-message in the Browser.

And also when i start the virtual tomcat server(virtual_start.bat), i am not getting any error on virtual server console.


Can anybody please help me with this ASAP..

Hi,

Preview website is working fine now..!!!
I just had to change the IP address from 127-0-0-1 to that of my machine on which the virtual server is running..
You can set the IP address in the file alfresco-virtserver.properties..
Just change the IP address to that of your machine( the machine on which vitual server is running)

hi ,
for preview website we need to change the virtual server properties and also add the url of the webproject into the host present in /etc.the website url format should be http://virtual-hostname.www--sandbox.virtualization-domain/request-path.
Hope this will work.

As a general rule, I would say always check the IP address and trying reinstalling/downloading… those are two that I have always noticed to work and try first… but just my 2 cents!

Hi All,

I've an Alfresco 4.0.c installed and a WCM 3.2 community edition configured in it.
After creating a Web-Project, doing a bulk import or creating a new project with all
the details provided for the avm sample web-project,when I click the "Preview Website" feature,
It opens a new window with  :

http://alfrescosample.www--sandbox.127-0-0-1.ip.alfrescodemo.net:8180/ (url-varies for every project)

and keeps on loading and I don't see any errors in the virtual-tomcat logs. If I hit "http://localhost:8180" that doesn't bring up the tomcat default page.
I've configured alfresco-virtserver.properties. I want to know,as I have both i.e. alfresco and the WCM virtual tomcat
running on the same m/c, do I still need to change the I.P. from 127.0.0.1 to the m/c's I.P. ??

And

for every project that I create, I need  to put an entry in the host file??

P.S. : I'm using Linux. Ubuntu 10.04.

Please help me understanding it and breaking through it to get this working.
