Hello,

What are the main difference(s) between Simple workflow and Advanced workflow.  To my limited knowledge about alfresco workflow, there are two types out of the box.  One is the Simple Workflow which is content-oriented and the other one is the Advanced Workflow which is task-oriented.  However, it seems like both can do the same things.  For example, there are two default workflows for both simple and advanced: Adhoc task (Assign task to colleague) and Review & Approve (Review & approval of content).  When executing them, I don't see any differences between them.  Any information would be greatly appreicated.

Thanks.

Take a look at

http://wiki.alfresco.com/wiki/Workflow_Reqs_and_Design#Alfresco_v1.3_.22Simple.22_Workflow

for some ramblings on difference between simple and advanced workflow.

The two default workflows (adhoc and review & approve) are both advanced workflows. BTW, there are other out-of-the-box workflows (such as parallel review, web site submission etc).  The differences between the two workflows are the steps allowed, the actions that can be issued on the content being routed etc.
