Sharepoint protocole without MS Office on server?

Good Morning everybody! (Sorry if my English isn't correct)


I would like to know if I could edit a MS Office file on Alfresco, when MS office is installed on the client host but not on the server host?

My configuration is :

* Alfresco 4.2.c on Windows Server 2008 R2, without MS Office
* Clients on Windows 7 with MS Office 2010

PS :

I can't find the following directories on my server when I open regedit :
-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\
-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\service\WebClient

So, I can't modify or create the "BasicAuthLevel" key in "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\Internet" nor in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\service\WebClient"

There is no need for office on the server.

How do you intend authenticating?

So no need to muck around with th ntlm settings on windows.

What does mean this? (Some  problems to understand) I can't use ldap authentication if i want to use sharepoint protocol? Else if, can I use WebDav?

If you are going to change the registry keys it would be on the client computer, NOT the server. You shouldn't need to change them anyway.

If your using ldap to authenticate (via sharepoint protocol) make sure that your network firewall allows the communication. You might have to open the port in the firewall that alfresco will be using. (7070) default.

For the most part I've never had to change the registry settings except on a few select laptops.
