Share site - Copy to... Link to...

I have heard about creating links in Alfresco, but I don't see this option? When i copy document, I can simply paste it somewhere else…

Anyway, my question is more related to Share site that has this really great Copy function where I can easily select another site, doc library and specific folder. The only problem is that I do not want to copy that document, I just need a link / reference there.

Why?

Lets say some people create documents that originally belong to other sites, like project site.
Then we have Meetings site that contains materials related to that particular meeting.
Some documents are created there, but others must be linked from other sites…

is that possible?

I would love to have Link to… button next to Move and Copy.
Or am I missing something here?

Me too.  I just started looking into this today.  Let me know if you find anything.

Looks like it's possible but I haven't figured out exactly how yet.

"Link to" is possible in Alfresco Explorer, but I think is not support in Share.
   
I tried to link through the Alfresco Explorer, and then see how it looks on Share. The Share put a different folder icon (icon folder with link symbol, that is great), but does not behave properly  

This shows that have already been partially implemented, but is not finished yet.

My version is 3.2

Currently linking is supported, but not across Sites; and links can only currently be generated with the Explorer (JSF) client.

This is something we intend to improve in the future.

Hi all

I would like to use the "File to" functionality, which I assume is the same as "Link to" that is available in Records Management, but in Document Management.

Any hellp please.
