Question about Press release and Company footer mecanism

Hi,

just a little question, I see that we can include a company footer in a presse release.
My question is :
If i modify my company footer, my press release which include company footer is not update. Is it right ?
Is there a way to easily solve it ?

Generally, do you have a solution if a content A include content from B. if B is update, is it possible to force to regenerate rendition of A ?

In the general case it's impossible to determine the dependency graph for any given derived (generated) asset, particularly when new content is created.  For that reason Alfresco only tracks the direct dependencies between an XML file and the renditions that were generated by renditioning templates of the Web Form that generated that XML file.

For the kind of scenario you describe, it's better to compose the page at request time, since that eliminates the dependency problem (independent content items are composed together for each and every page request, so there is no persistent dependency graph to maintain).  Unfortunately the WSF sample site (which I'm assuming is where you obtained the press release and company footer Web Forms?) doesn't follow this approach and hence has exactly the dependency problems you describe.
