Publishing

Hi Experts,
I am new to Alfresco. I have  a requirement to publish the Content to the filesystem Directory with the metadata to be exported into a external database table.  To be precise :

1. I want to publish the content to a filesystem directory
2. Metatadata of the content should be published to a database tables.

Can Anyone please help me to identify the ways to publish the content outside the alfresco repository ?
Questions :
Is there any component available which can be configured to publish the content?
What are the API available if OOTB component is not available.

Any help would be much appriciated .

Alfresco WCM has deployment features that will  publish content onto a flat filesystem and an AVM store for meta-data.
(Being able to publish arbitary metadata onto an arbitary RDBMs is on the medium term roadmap but not available yet).

You could also develop some sort of rule, action or workflow that pushes data from alfresco.

1.It seems that i can not publish the documents & metadata without using the ECM.

Can you please explain more on this? 
1. Which API is available to write the custom actions through which i can achieve this. Any reference?

Also a stupid question:  " Can you please give any reference for explaining AVM store?"
