Problem accessing site dashboard

Hello

We have been using Alfresco Cloud (free version) for a while without incident. Last week I set up a site and invited people to join it. Some did and some posted documents so they clearly could get to the site.

This morning one invitee said they could not get to the site, I tried myself and I got

"A server error has occurred"

page. When I clicked on the link from "My Sites"

I can navigate direct to the document library (because I know how to contruct the URL manually in the browser address bar) and I can navigate to other parts of the site directly, but I cannot get to the dashboard.

The underlying error message is

<!–

Can some kind soul in Alfresco Cloud support help me?

If this post is in the wrong place, can someone tell me where to ask for assistance on Alfresco Cloud (free version)?

Many thanks

I just noticed that I have the exact same problem for some of my sites. I'll let you know if support are able to assist.

I created a site last week, and I can actually access the site and it's contents via mobile (Android & IOS), but cannoty access via web.
Other sites created at the same time are accessible, just this one is not. It is a concern, because if it had been one of the other sites I could lose a helluva lot of information.
I have also requested a paid Trial 3 times and requested an upgrade 3 times, not contact, no response.

Should I stick around???

I have still no response and it is still playing up. I appreciate that the free version does not have support, but as its meant to get people using the product so that they will move on to pay for it, I think it very odd that such obvious "bugs" are not responded to as it detracts from the Cloud offering and is not an encouragement to pay money.

Non of us here would expect to be able to call up and get advice on "how to use" a free product, but fixing when it breaks might be good PR if nothing else. There is clearly a bug here as what you can actually do in the free product is very limited and I certainly did not even try and reconfigure the site dashboard (which is standard functionality anyway).

I can say that I use the Community Version locally and for other internet projects and it really is very good and very stable and the Alfresco Engineers do monitor those forums and are very helpful.

To get your data visible again in the web, create another site, and then try and go to your old site dashboard (it will fail), then substitute the word documentlibrary for dashboard at the end of the URL in the address bar and try to go there and that should place you in the document library of your inaccessible site. From there you can now copy the contents to your new accessible site.

Its not a solution to the underlying problem (which I think is a missing file in the share site configuration directory - but I cannot be sure) but it will get you out of jail.

Good luck

Also have seen this problem, and thought I'd chime in. Cropped up recently, right when I invited a coworker to view the site. Frustrating!

Roughly 15% of my sites are affected by this issue. Support have seen and noted the issue for my sites and have created a support case for it - https://issues.alfresco.com/jira/browse/DEVOPS-3365 (internal only so we will not be able to read the details).

Still no resolution Smiley Sad

I appreciate that I am not a large customer for Alfresco but it seems the only resolution is for me is to create new sites and move everything across myself while hoping that it doesn't reoccur. Given this, I dare suggest that the service should still be regarded as beta and not ready for charging users. For a paid service, I would suggest to find a service better suited to supporting cloud users. I did have high hopes for this service…

Hi,

Regarding this issue…our IT team is hard at work on a solution. I can assure everyone this is a critical, high priority issue that other customers have reported. As soon as I get more information I will post what I can here, if you are a paying customer please contact Alfresco Support, and they may be able to give you more information and/or assistance. Thank you!

Thanks for your reply and I appreciate seeing comment from an Alfresco employee. I have been in touch with Support who have stated a fix will be implemented soon.

However, I don't understand the secrecy surrounding the support issues and release details given the open source nature of Alfresco.
