Preview of Office documents

Hello
The previewing of office docuement does not work on my copy of Alfresco Labs 3D.
I can successfully preview pdf docs, however i get a mesaage that says "This document can't be previewed. Click here to download it"
I suspect that I have an open office config issue.

I am on Ubuntu 8.04, Alfresco Labs 3d

Are you trying to preview docx files, by any chance? They don't work out of the box.

If not, did you start OpenOffice at all?

These guys had success by replacing Ubuntu's default OpenOffice install with v3.01: http://forums.alfresco.com/en/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16484

hi.,

  i am using alfresco3.2r enterprise edition., i am having problem with ms office files preview in alfresco share.

i enabled pdf2swf and successfully installed openOffice. here is my configuration in alfresco-global.properties.
