Hi !

I have a problem with templates :
publicationpage1 template works perfectly but sectionpage4 and 5 templates thumbnails for PDF / Word documents does not work even with wcmqs publication section rendition config :

ws:image=ws:mediumPublicationThumbnail,application/pdf=ws:mediumPublicationThumbnail,application/msword=wsSmiley TonguedfWebasset,application/vnd.ms-excel=wsSmiley TonguedfWebasset,application/vnd.ms-powerpoint=wsSmiley TonguedfWebasset,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document=wsSmiley TonguedfWebasset,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet=wsSmiley TonguedfWebasset,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.presentationml.presentation=wsSmiley TonguedfWebasset,application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text=wsSmiley TonguedfWebasset,application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.presentation=wsSmiley TonguedfWebasset,application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.spreadsheet=wsSmiley TonguedfWebasset

Any ideas ?

In what way is it failing? Anything in either alfresco.log or wcmquickstart.log?

Which section are you uploading the new PDF file into? Is the rendition config that you described above defined on that section? If you upload the new PDF into the publication section on the sample site does its thumbnail appear?

Custom section (not the "publication" pre-implemented by wcmqs)
Is the rendition config that you described above defined on that section?
Exactly the same as "publication" section :

Template Mapping:

cmis:document=publicationpage1,ws:indexPage=sectionpage4

Rendition Config:

ws:image=ws:mediumPublicationThumbnail,application/pdf=ws:mediumPublicationThumbnail,application/msword=ws:pdfWebasset,application/vnd.ms-excel=ws:pdfWebasset,application/vnd.ms-powerpoint=ws:pdfWebasset,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document=ws:pdfWebasset,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.spreadsheetml.sheet=ws:pdfWebasset,application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.presentationml.presentation=ws:pdfWebasset,application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.text=ws:pdfWebasset,application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.presentation=ws:pdfWebasset,application/vnd.oasis.opendocument.spreadsheet=ws:pdfWebasset

If you upload the new PDF into the publication section on the sample site does its thumbnail appear?
Yes it does

Ok i found the solution, in fact you have to set the rendition config before upload any asset in your collection, thumbnails rendition takes place at the upload only.
Problem solved !  Smiley Happy

Oh, yes. Sorry - didn't think to ask which order you'd done things in. It's an interesting idea, running rendition config changes when they're made. It was a conscious decision not to do that, as it wasn't clear what should happen if rendition definitions were removed from the config - should existing renditions be deleted?

Glad you found the solution.
